The friend in question will be a person who is familiar with the residents of your town or city. He or she has probably lived in your town or city for some time. He or she knows things like the best places to eat and the best people to see. These personal knowledge of your town or city’s residents will help the friend make a better decision about moving there. If the person is moving to your city or town from somewhere else, he or she may be unaware that some of your residents have reputations for being rude, loud, or lazy. Of course, this friend will not be aware of all of the residents’ positive attributes, but he or she will be aware of some of the negative attributes. This friend may be interested in meeting some of these people. He or she may, for instance, be looking to meet a baker who can whip up a tasty pie, a professional organizer who can rearrange your living room into a workable space, or a musician who can play a mean guitar. All of these people need a place to live, so your friend may decide to move to your town or city to meet with these people. He or she may also decide to move your town or city to meet new residents. For instance, your town or city may have more children than before. This friend may be interested in meeting children who may want to join his or her family in volunteering at the local children’s hospital or participating in activities at the community center.
