Some people prefer to live in places that have the same weather or climate all year long. Others like to live in areas where the weather changes several times a year. Which do you prefer?
Use specific reasons and examples to support your choice.
When I was a child, I preferred to live in places that had different climate seasons. As I grew older, however, I began to prefer living in a place where the weather did not change drastically throughout the year. My reasoning for this is that I began to prefer the change of weather. As I matured, I realized that life changes, and I like having things to look forward to; thus, I like periods of change in my climate. While changes do happen in nature, they are relatively slow. Therefore, I prefer to live in areas whose climate does not drastically change.
My first reaction is that some places have climates that do not change drastically throughout the year. For example, many areas of the US have mild winters and mild summers. While these areas have climates that change, they do not do so drastically. For example, in the southwestern US, the weather in February may be quite mild, with temperatures of 60-70 degrees Fahrenheit, but in July, the weather may be quite hot, with temperatures reaching 95 degrees Fahrenheit. In these areas, one may enjoy the change in temperature, but one may get bored of having the same weather for a long time. Furthermore, many people who live in such areas love winter, and they may miss the change of seasons. As another example, in the northern US, weather may remain relatively mild all year round, with temperatures rarely reaching below -20 degrees Fahrenheit. Thus, in these regions, one may not be bored by the change of seasons, but they may miss having different climates to experience.
Other places, where the weather changes drastically, may suit those who prefer to live in a relatively unchanging climate. For example, areas that experience long, hot summers, such as Australia, may experience temperatures of 35-40 degrees Celsius, with 100 degrees Fahrenheit during the day. Similarly, areas in the Arctic may experience temperatures of less than 0 degrees Celsius. While these areas may have different climates throughout the year, the weather may remain the same, and it may suit those who prefer having unchanging weather.
The main reason why I prefer places with changing climates is simply that as a person grows older, he or she develops a liking for change. A change in climate may be exciting. For example, during the autumn, the weather may become quite cold, and many people love having pleasant weather. However, this weather may be quite uncomfortable during the summer. Therefore, people who like summer will enjoy the change of climate during the autumn, while people who like winter in the summer will have the opposite preference. In addition, people may dislike certain seasons and prefer to avoid such seasons; for some, this may be the winter or summer. Thus, a person who hates winter may dislike it even more during certain months, while a person who despises summer may hate the scorching heat even more during certain months. This preference for change is natural, and, as stated above, one may prefer to live in places where one’s preferences for seasons can be met.
